Day 1: Pack your Bell Bottoms and we’ll provide a Tie-Dyed Shirt and join us as we travel to Cleveland to kick off the Woodstock 50th Anniversary weekend! En-route we will tour the Neil Armstrong Museum in Wapakoneta. We’ll check into our hotel upon arrival and enjoy dinner on our own. Tonight at 7:00 pm the doors of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame open for an exclusive four hours among the exhibits. It’s been said that visiting the Rock & Roll is like taking a peek into your favorite musician’s closet. The Hall’s permanent collection contains thousands of one-of-a-kind items ranging from musical instruments and song lyrics to quirky stage props and colorful costumes. There will be a cash bar should you want to rest a moment with a cocktail, hors d’oeurves and desserts. A second unique feature this evening at 9:00 pm is the Moon Rock Party on the Rock Hall Plaza. Join the fun when there’s a full moon over Cleveland at 9:22 pm, and “when Peace will guide the Planets and Love will steer the Stars.”
Day 2: After our included breakfast we depart for a ride aboard the Cuyahoga Scenic Railroad which runs through the scenic Cuyahoga Valley National Park System. The train offers an excellent view of the natural scenery and wildlife of the national park as well as an opportunity to learn about the history of the railroad in the valley. This afternoon we will enjoy a guided tour of the city of Cleveland, once described as the “Mistake on the Lake” and now happily flaunts its music legacy and great sports teams! This afternoon we will return to our hotel to refresh for a great evening. Tonight’s event coincides with the Opening of Woodstock 50 years ago. It is a Rock Gala, at the famous Cleveland Auditorium. It’s a dinner, dance and musical stage production, a Woodstock Tribute Band, an evening of music and dancing, dining and remembering!
Day 3: We’ll depart after our late morning breakfast to give you a chance to sleep in a bit after an exciting evening of entertainment. We begin our journey towards home, first stopping at the John Glenn Museum. Tour John Glenn’s childhood home in New Concord, Ohio, and experience life during the Great Depression and on the home front during WWII. The John & Annie Glenn Museum presents the life story of John and Annie Glenn through a series of engaging tours, featuring collections and galleries that contain special childhood treasures and memorabilia from Glenn’s military, political and space careers. Arrive home this evening after celebrating a grand musical moment in history!
