Don’t miss the bus on this great little new getaway to upstate New York and the “Flower City” of Rochester! We will include the sights and sounds of the Rochester Lilac Festival, include a visit to the fantastic Strong Museum of Play, and enjoy the life and times of Lucy and Desi Arnez at the Luci-Desi Museum. Day 1: Today we travel to lovely Rochester, New York, known as The Flower City! After our travels we will check into the DoubleTree Hotel for our two night stay.
Day 2: After our included full breakfast we will set our sights for Highland Park, site of the world famous Rochester Lilac Festival. Get a “passion for purple” today, take in the sweet aroma of lilacs, explore the pansy bed, the azalea garden and the Pinetum. Discover magnificent gardens, musical gems, exciting exhibits, spectacular art and more! We have reserved bleacher seating for the Lilac Parade this morning then you are free to explore! Visit the park’s Lamberton Conservatory for more amazing flora this afternoon. Our dinner is included tonight before returning to the hotel. B,D
Day 3: This morning after our breakfast we will check out and head to one of the most unique and fascinating museums you will ever visit…the world famous Strong Museum of Play! Don’t be fooled by the name…this is a museum for people of all ages. From the Barbie Dolls, etch-a-sketch and board games to the Sesame Street and Berenstain Bears exhibits you are sure to recall fond memories of your younger days as well as wonderful memories with your own children and grandchildren. This afternoon we will head toward home with an overnight stay near Jamestown, NY. Our dinner will be included. B,D
Day 4: Today after breakfast we will visit the Lucille Ball-Desi Arnaz Museum. The legacy of Lucille Ball has been proudly honored in Lucy’s hometown of Jamestown since the opening of the museum in 1996. The museum preserves their memory through costumes and memorabilia, awards, photographs of both their personal and TV lives, and much more. After our visit we will set our sights for home. Plan to arrive this evening with fond memories of a wonderful getaway tour. B
