The Virginia State Capitol was Thomas Jefferson’s architectural declaration of independence from Great Britain. Its design has influenced public buildings in America since 1788. After our tour we will travel to beautiful Virginia. We will see the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel as it showcases the mighty surge of the Atlantic Ocean, the beauty of the Chesapeake Bay and the soaring grace of an engineering marvel. This afternoon we check into our hotel for our three night stay. During your stay stroll the charming boardwalk, visit the fishing pier or shop along the “strip”. Enjoy free time to get acquainted with our hotel and surrounding beach before gathering for an included dinner this evening.
Day 3: Breakfast is included at the hotel at your leisure. Enjoy the morning on Virginia Beach. Later we will travel to nearby Norfolk. Sightseeing today will include a visit to Hampton Roads Naval Museum and the U.S.S. Wisconsin, one of our nation’s great fighting ladies. A highlight of our day will also include a visit to the Norfolk Naval Base, one of the busiest airbases in the United States. This evening we will cruise the scenic Elizabeth River on a two-hour dinner cruise aboard the Spirit of Norfolk that features a dockside launch party, onboard entertainment and a full dinner buffet with coffee and tea. You’ll see the Norfolk skyline light up after dark, have perfect views of passing submarines and Navy ships, and enjoy a fun evening of games and dancing on the deck. We’ll return to our Virginia Beach hotel after a great day.
Day 4: Breakfast is again included before we depart with great anticipation for our historic visit to Colonial Williamsburg. We will walk the streets where Washington, Jefferson and many other great American’s strolled. Visit the Capitol and the Governor’s Palace, once home to Jefferson and statesmen like Patrick Henry. This evening our dinner will be included in one of its historic Taverns before enjoying an evening program and tour…”Shadows of the Past”. After a full day we will return to our hotel.
