The National Memorial Day Parade is a moving timeline of American military history, honoring those who have served and sacrificed from the American Revolution to the present day. It draws on the tradition of Memorial Day parades, going back to the beginning of the holiday just after the Civil War, to create a family friendly event aimed at calling attention to the true meaning of Memorial Day – honoring our fallen heroes. In addition to the parade we have included highlights such as the Smithsonian Museum Complex, Arlington National Cemetery, Monuments and Memorials, and Mt. Vernon. Don’t miss the bus for a unique and new perspective to seeing our nation’s Capital!

Day 1: It’s eastward bound as we cross Ohio’s rolling fields and the picturesque mountains of Pennsylvania. This evening, arrive at our suburban Virginia hotel where we will check in for a three-night stay. A buffet dinner stop will be made en-route.

Day 2: Breakfast is included before we start our day with picture taking at The White House. We will spend our morning at the Smithsonian Museums. This afternoon, Croswell will provide a collapsible chair for each person to view the largest Memorial Day Parade in the country. Enjoy this great celebration of our veterans and fallen heroes! This evening, we will include a guided tour of the monuments and memorials.

Day 3: Breakfast will begin our day. This morning we will visit The National Museum of the Marine Corps. The museum tells the story of the past, present and future of the Marine Corps in a state-of-the-art facility. Next, we visit George Washington’s Mount Vernon, an American landmark and an enduring tribute to the Father of Our Country. We will visit the First President’s Mansion as well as the estate gardens and grounds. We will include a sightseeing cruise where we will learn about the river's history and discover how it contributed to Washington's business ventures. Be sure to look for the eagles and osprey that live along the shores. A special dinner is included this evening before viewing the Iwo Jima and Pentagon Memorials.

Day 4: Breakfast is included before visiting Arlington National Cemetery complete with a tram. The Changing of The Guard occurs every 30 minutes and is a must see! Then it’s homeward bound with memories of days spent together in our nation’s capital during a very special Memorial Day weekend!
