“Fixer Upper” in Waco and “Home Town” in Laurel, Mississippi

Don’t miss the bus on this unique adventure which includes sightseeing, shopping and more. Chip and Joanna Gaines, stars of the former HGTV series “Fixer Upper,” call Waco home and are owners of the Magnolia Market at the Silos and a bakery, Magnolia Flour and we will visit both! Erin and Ben Napier call Laurel, Mississippi their “Home Town” and their goal is to help others see the beauty of small-town life and to encourage them to seek out opportunities to make an impact on the world, starting in their own small town. In Laurel we will visit the bustling downtown and shop at the Laurel Mercantile and the Scotsman General Store.
Day 1 Today we will begin our adventure bright and early for our drive south to our first overnight in Arkansas, south of Memphis.
Day 2 We will set our sights for Waco today where we will check into our hotel for the next three nights. B
Day 3 After breakfast we will meet our guide to get a lay of the land from the locals! We’ll learn a bit about Waco, see some great Fixer Upper houses and enjoy lunch on our own. This afternoon we will visit the Homestead Craft Village, an 18-acre craft village and working homestead that includes a 200-year-old barn, the Potter’s House, a woodworking shop and a 1760 gristmill and more! We will enjoy dinner together this evening. B,D
Day 4 Today is all yours – shop ‘til you drop at Magnolia Markets! Waco is loaded with unique boutiques, fun antique shops, art studios, great local restaurants, and a vibe that can’t be beat. The emphasis is on things you won’t find anywhere else. There is a trolley downtown, and if you chose, you can purchase a hop on and off ticket so you can get to all the best spots easily. Our motorcoach will be available to return to the hotel if you wish. If you want a break from shopping, you can visit the Dr. Pepper Museum, Texas Ranger Hall of Fame, and more. Enjoy dinner on your own. Grab a to-go box from the Magnolia Food Truck, order a pizza, or explore the city’s nightlife. B
Day 5 We’ll pack our bags and the bus and head for our next destination of Laurel, Mississippi. B
Day 6 This morning, we will head to downtown Laurel. Enjoy shopping & browsing at the Laurel Mercantile and Scotsman General Store for a real feel of small-town shops! Lunch will be on your own and we’ll depart this afternoon for Birmingham where we will spend our final night. B, D
Day 7 We’ll set our sights for home, anxious to unwrap our goods and share stories of this great two HGTV Show Tour! B
