The Virginia International Tattoo is a non-stop exhibition of marching bands, massed pipes and drums, military drill teams, gymnasts, Scottish dancers, vocalists, acrobats, fireworks and always surprises! This one-of-a-kind international event will honor our nation’s military and celebrate American freedom and patriotism. It will thrill you with an awe-inspiring spectacle of music and might. The Tattoo is more than a performance, it is an experience.
Day 1: We will depart bright and early this morning to begin our exciting tour experience. Today we will travel to Richmond, Virginia where we check into our hotel for the night.
Day 2: We’ll depart this morning in time to arrive in Norfolk to enjoy a Pre-Tattoo Luncheon and Meet & Greet with actual Tattoo Performers entertaining us at lunch. Next, we will experience Military Pageantry like no other! Enjoy the amazing International Tattoo Performance from your premium view seats! Traditions you may view include the rousing Sing-A-Long service songs of the Army, Air Force, Marine Corps, & Coast Guard, the Moving Grand Choir performs the National Anthem and Amazing Grace, and the majesty of the finale as hundreds of performers fill the vast arena with sights, sounds, and enduring strength defining Esprit de Corps! After the show we will check into our oceanfront hotel. Enjoy dinner on your own along the boardwalk and explore the beach this evening. B, L
Day 3: Following breakfast at the hotel we “take-off” to tour the Military Aviation Museum. Each plane tells a unique story about the men and women who designed, flew, and died in them in order to literally save the world 75 years ago. Next, we enjoy an included luncheon complete with themed entertainment surrounded by vintage WWI and WWII era military aircraft. Following lunch, they’ll open the hangar for a spectacular narrated private vintage aircraft flight demonstration. Return to the hotel to rest and enjoy the beach before our Mermaid Beach Bash. This evening we will arrive at our VIP exclusive event Mermaid Beach Bash featuring Mermaids (of course), a dinner feast and a performance by The Original Rhondels. B, L, D
Day 4: Enjoy breakfast before check-out. This morning we will visit the Norfolk Botanical Gardens. The garden has one of the largest collections of azaleas, camellias, and rhododendrons on the East Coasts in a 155-acre garden with canal boats, trackless train tours, and unique special theme gardens. After enjoying free time and lunch on our own at Norfolk’s waterside district, we’ll tour Nauticus, The National Maritime Center, an exciting science and technology center exploring the power of the sea. Visit the USS Wisconsin, one of the largest Battleships ever built. We will tour the Douglas MacArthur Memorial, which pays tribute to the millions of men and women who served in WWI, WWII, the Korean Conflict, and the Gulf War. We depart Norfolk this afternoon for our overnight destination. B
Day 5: Following breakfast, we depart for our drive home. This tour will surely provide you with long lasting memories of a wonderful experience of Pageantry, Patriotism & Celebration! B
