Did you know that Tyler, Texas is known as the “Rose Capital of America” or that Waco is considered the Lone Star State’s most charming smaller city?  Did you know that Granville, Tennessee is known as Tennessee’s Mayberry Town?  Come along with us and we’ll show you why these things and more are true!

Day 1:   We depart bright and early this morning for our drive south to Memphis where we will overnight this evening.

Day 2:   After our included breakfast we depart and set our sights for the first of many attractions on this “charming” tour…Graceland, the estate mansion of the King of Rock ‘N Roll, Elvis Presley.  Did you know that Graceland is the second most visited home in the United States, just behind the White House! After our visit we will continue our journey to Texarkana. Tonight, we will include dinner together before checking into our hotel for the night.  B, D

Day 3:   This morning, we will drive the short distance to Tyler, Texas, the Rose Capital of America! First, we will include a visit to the beautifully preserved 1859 Goodman-LeGrand House and Museum.  Our tour will showcase the stories of the fascinating families who lived here and will include time seeing the well-manicured lawn. Then, we will tour the nation’s largest Rose Garden, spanning 14 acres. The gardens include over 38,000 rose bushes and over 600 different varieties, as well as reflecting pools, walkways and fountains. This afternoon we are on our way to another charming small city in Texas, Waco. We will check into our local hotel for our two-night stay and enjoy the evening at leisure. B

Day 4:   This morning after breakfast we will visit the Magnolia Market. Chip and Joanna Gaines, stars of the former HGTV series, “Fixer Upper” call Waco home and are owners of the Magnolia Market at the Silos and its bakery, Silos Baking Co.  Chip and Joanna are true visionaries, and roughly every kitchen you pin to your “Home Ideas” board has come from their ideas.  We will have time for shopping and browsing and enjoy lunch on our own.  This afternoon, visit the Dr. Pepper Museum, including a guided tour of the original bottling facility and sample some hand-made Dr. Pepper from their old-fashioned soda fountain.  After a full day of shopping and sightseeing we will include dinner at a local restaurant before returning to our hotel for the night.  B, D

Days 5:  We depart bright and early for our drive to Forrest City, Arkansas for our overnight stay. B

Day 6:   Following breakfast, we will set our sights for the final charming small town on our tour…Granville, Tennessee. Known as Tennessee’s Mayberry Town, when you walk down Colver Street you think you are in Mayberry.  Step back in time to the simpler life, experience a slower pace, and enjoy the quieter pleasures of small-town America. Tonight, we will include the Sutton Ole Time Music Hour Bluegrass Dinner Show. Our overnight will be in Granville. B, D

Day 7:   After breakfast, we will depart for home, making a rest stop at Buc-cee’s, and excited to tell our family and friends about our visits to some of our nation’s most remarkable small towns!  B
