Day 1: We will depart this morning for our drive to Lake Geneva. We will arrive late in the afternoon and check into our hotel, the Harbor Shores on Lake Geneva for the next three nights.
Day 2: Following a hearty Wisconsin breakfast, we’ll unplug and experience firsthand the daily life of Wisconsin’s early immigrants through a unique open-air living history museum. For centuries, people left old worlds for a new life in Wisconsin. They faced unfamiliar landscapes and languages, learned to establish farms and communities, and blended the old with the new. Welcome to the world they created. Welcome to Old Wisconsin, featuring village shops, historic farms, heirloom gardens and more. This afternoon we will delve into the history of Lake Geneva at Black Point Mansion. Built in 1888, it was one of the first summer residences designed to host large parties from Chicago. Its distinctive architecture also makes it one of the most interesting on the lake. Tonight, we will be guests at the Dancing Horses Theatre, including dinner and a dazzling spectacle featuring an array of horse breeds who perform alongside their trainers in a fantastic cavalcade of equestrian artistry. Day 3: Enjoy breakfast before we board a riverboat, relax, and enjoy all the scenic beauty of Lake Geneva as we cruise around the entire lake. Listen to a captivating and historical live narration of the beautiful mansions that line the shore, some dating back to as early as 1873. Highlights include the original Wrigley Estate comprised of six different homes, hear the history of the most expensive home in Wisconsin and find out details about the lake itself. You will have free time this afternoon to enjoy a stroll along the lake, sit on a bench and enjoy the view or relax at the hotel. Tonight, after our included dinner, we head to the Tristen Crist Magic Theatre to experience the grand illusionist perform magic up-close and personal. How can a real helicopter appear only a few feet away??!! B, D
Day 4: After breakfast we bid beautiful Lake Geneva farewell and begin our journey home. We will arrive early this evening anxious to tell our family and friends about the adventure we had seeing the “Gem” called Lake Geneva! B
