Often called the “Cape Cod of the Midwest”, the Door Peninsula is a scenic wonderland. Autumn is the perfect season to enjoy the sights and sounds and landscapes of Door County.

Day 1: We depart early this morning ready to begin our journey to the north. We will check in to our local hotel near Racine, WI.

Day 2: Enjoy an included breakfast this morning prior to departing for Von Stiehl Winery, Wisconsin’s oldest licensed winery and listed on the National Register of Historic Places. We will include a winery tour and select tasting while enjoying Lake Michigan views! We then travel to Sister Bay and check into The Open Hearth Lodge for our 3-night stay. The Open Hearth is situated on luscious grounds and amenities include indoor pools. A delicious Prime Rib dinner is included this evening at the English Inn.

Day 3: This morning you will enjoy a wonderful breakfast. First on the agenda, we will meet our tour guide to ferry to Washington Island. Learn the history of the island and its lighthouses. See the beautiful Norwegian Stave Chapel, patterned after the one in Borgund, Norway. We will also visit the Historic Island Dairy and their Lavender fields. Lunch is included on the island before returning later in the afternoon aboard the ferry. Return to the Open Hearth to refresh and then depart for The Log Den in Egg Harbor for a delicious buffet dinner.

Day 4: Breakfast is included this morning before we begin another day of guided touring. Touring will include scenic views at Cave Point, shipyards, orchards, admission to the Door County Maritime Museum, and a stop at Bjorklunden Stave Chapel. This little gem is patterned after the Stave Chapel in Lillehammer, Norway and is filled with 41 Fresco paintings and beautiful wood carvings. We will then experience a “Taste of Door County” at the Farm Market. Sample Wisconsin’s famous cheddars, homemade jams/jellies and chocolate covered cherries. We will then enjoy a tour of Eagle Bluff Lighthouse. Enjoy the beautiful bluffs and shorelines, and history of the little towns that make up this 'Cape Cod of the Midwest". A memorable day indeed! Tonight’s dinner will be at Pelletier’s for their famous Fish Boil. Watch the boilover and enjoy the technique and cooking process of the Traditional Door County Fish Boil!

Day 5: Breakfast is included this morning before departing. Today we will return to Racine and visit the Windpoint Lighthouse. This lighthouse stands 108 feet tall and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Tonight, we will enjoy a special farewell dinner.

Day 6: Breakfast is included before departing for home. We arrive back home this evening with wonderful memories to share with family and friends about our visit to beautiful Door County in the autumn and more.
