Day 1: Today is the beginning of a great adventure! We travel through the rolling Ohio hills into the picturesque Pennsylvania countryside. We’ll overnight near Rochester, N.Y. this evening.
Day 2: Departing this morning, we travel to Franconia Notch State Park and Cannon Mountain. Here you will board the tram and take a ride up Cannon Mountain. At the summit, you will have approximately 45 minutes to take in the sights. Overnight this evening in the Lincoln, NH area.
Day 3: After breakfast depart for Bar Harbor. Today you will travel along the Kancamagus Highway and hopefully be able to view the tallest peak in New England, Mt. Washington. Enjoy your deluxe accommodations for the next two-nights in Bar Harbor.
Day 4: This morning enjoy a guided tour of Acadia National Park including Mt. Desert Island featuring Cadillac Mountain, Thunder Hole, and the Jordon Pond House. Tonight’s dinner will be a special treat. A real Down East Lobster Bake served at an authentic Maine Lobster Pound with views of the Bar Harbor.
Day 5: Another day to explore the rugged coast of Maine awaits you after breakfast. Our first stop this morning is at the Penobscot Marine Museum. Then it’s on to Mt. Battie in Camden Hills State Park. We will pause for a breathtaking view of the harbor. Then it’s a short jump to Owl’s Head Transportation Museum to see a fine collection of antique aircraft and automobiles. Next we have a most unusual shopping experience that you won’t want to miss at the Maine State Prison Showroom where items made by the convicts are for sale. We continue over to Boothbay Harbor to check in at our hotel for the next two nights. This evening’s dinner is included in one of Boothbay’s many charming eateries.
Day 6: Rise and shine for a hearty breakfast overlooking Boothbay Harbor. Today, enjoy a tour of Ocean Point and a harbor cruise of Boothbay Harbor and the neighboring islands. Following our excursion we will return to the hotel with the remainder of the day at your leisure.
Day 7: Following breakfast, we will make stops at L.L. Bean and the Portland Head Light, Maine’s oldest lighthouse before overnighting in Worcester MA.
Day 8: Enjoy breakfast together this morning, then we depart for our drive to Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Our farewell evening will be enjoyed at a family-style Amish restaurant.
Day 9: After an included breakfast you’ll depart for home with fond memories of a great time together seeing beautiful Coastal Maine.
