Day 1: We travel today through Ohio and into the heart of Pennsylvania Dutch territory. We will enjoy a three night stay near Lancaster.
Day 2: Following an included breakfast, we will meet our step-on guide for an Amish Backroads Tour. View the beauty of the Amish scenery and much more! This afternoon, we travel back over 100 years to a time “before the movies,” when the spellbinding drama and humor of the Showman and the spectacular projected images from his “Magic Lantern Show” dazzled audiences across America. At last, we travel to Plain and Fancy Farms where anyone can be an artist if given the right materials and proper instruction. Let our resident artist, Elva Hurst, walk you through the steps of creating your Lancaster County farm scene using chalk pastels. You’ll be amazed at your own hidden talent as Elva guides you through the use of colors and blending to create your own original work of art! Dinner will be included at Plain and Fancy Farms.
Day 3: An included breakfast will begin our day before arriving at the historic Strasburg Rail Road for a relaxing 45-minute, fully narrated, round trip steam train ride through picturesque Lancaster County. Sit back and relax as you travel through 2,500 acres of preserved Amish farmland, steaming your way through the rural countryside. We will make a stop at the Old Windmill Farm and see this simple way of life. We will refresh at the hotel before enjoying the awe-inspiring musical production, JESUS at the renowned Sight & Sound Theatre! Dinner will be included at Hershey Farms following the show.
Day 4: We head for home after an included breakfast. Plan to arrive home late evening with wonderful stories to tell about what we have seen and done in Pennsylvania Dutch land!
