New England’s fall beauty is legendary.  This deluxe tour takes us from Boston, to Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Connecticut and upstate New York.  Our journey will include scenic trains, lovely lakes and beautiful mountains.  You can look at all the pictures you want, but you will never truly experience what New England has to offer during the heart of its fall season unless you come and experience it for yourself.  Sign up early and don’t miss the bus!

Day One:  It’s all aboard bright and early to begin our New England adventure. Our overnight this evening will be near Allentown, PA.

Day Two:  This morning we will depart for our stop in Mystic, Connecticut.  Mystic Seaport: The Museum of America and the Sea is the largest maritime museum in the United States.  It is notable for its collection of sailing ships and boats and for the re-creation of the crafts and fabric of an entire 19th-century seafaring village.  You will surely enjoy your visit and introduction to some of what New England has to offer! B,D

Day Three: We arrive in Boston excited to meet our local guide for a city tour.  We will learn about the different districts of the city, plus see Beacon Hill, Boston Common, the Public Garden, the Old Statehouse, Old North Church, and USS Constitution Old Ironsides. Dinner will be on your own at Quincy Market where over 100 shops, carts, and artisans are available. B

Day Four: After an included breakfast, we board the Amtrak Downeaster for our ride north to Maine. Here, we meet our guide for a tour of the coastal villages, Kennebunk and Kennebunkport. Drive past the sandy beaches and rocky coastline, see George Bush’s estate at Walker’s Point, and much more. This afternoon, visit Perkins Cove, the start of the Marginal Way Shoreline Walking Path. Here, you can watch the surf, see the drawbridge and bobbing lobster boats, or visit the boutiques. This evening, we overnight in Ogunquit, ME and enjoy a classic downeast LobsterBake with sing-a-long entertainment! B,D

Day Five: We depart for the Conway Scenic Railway and board the Notch Train. This was once the Maine Central Railroad’s famed Mountain Division Line, on tracks that were laid in the 1870s. Enjoy the scenery as you pass through Crawford Notch, Frankenstein Trestle, and Willey Brook Bridge, seeing bluffs, ravines, brooks, and streams along the way. A boxed lunch is included onboard. This afternoon, travel through The White Mountains on our way to Littleton, NH where you can stroll along one of top walking streets in the United States. We arrive at our hotel, The Mountain Club on Loon, and enjoy a gondola ride to the top of Loon Mountain. Dinner is included this evening. B,D

Day Six: We meet our guided this morning and head for Lake Winnipesauke. We board the MS Mount Washington for a lake cruise. We debark in Wolfeboro, a delightful lakeside resort town. This afternoon, we visit The Wright Museum, featuring World War II exhibits, such as aircraft and tanks. Next, we board the Winnipesauke Scenic Railroad for a two-hour journey. Enjoy a turkey dinner with all the trimmings! B,D

Day Seven: Today, we travel through Vermont to the Berkshires. Lunch is included at Publyk House in Bennington, VT. We make a stop at Hemmings Automobilia and see firsthand the huge collection of automotive items: the old-fashioned Sunoco Station, die-cast models, pedal cars, auto artwork, 25 collector vehicles, and more. Our next stop is Bennington Apple Barn where we visit the 300-acre Apple Orchard and see some of the most spectacular views in Southern Vermont. Apple Pie a la mode is included. Tonight, dinner is included at a local restaurant (the former site of Alice’s Restaurant made famous by Arlo Guthrie). Check into your Berkshire hotel following dinner. B, L, D

Day Eight: Meet your guide for a fall foliage leaf-peeper tour, one of New England’s most extraordinary spectacles. Travel some of the most scenic backroads. Wind your way down country roads, stopping at Tanglewood, Stockbridge Bowl, and more. Visit the Berkshire Cottages, the summer homes of Andrew Carnegie, Harley Proctor of P&G, the Vanderbilt’s, and other aristocrats.  We will also visit the Norman Rockwell Museum today. This afternoon we will depart for our short drive to beautiful Lake George, New York in the heart of the Adirondack Mountains.  Tonight, we will enjoy a delightful dinner cruise on lovely Lake George. B,D

Day Nine:  This morning we will begin our journey home.  Our overnight stay will be near Buffalo. Enjoy a delightful farewell dinner together this evening. B,D
