Day 4:   Continuing southwest we will visit the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center in Albuquerque, NM.  The Center is one of the Southwest’s largest repositories of Native American arts and crafts.  Each pueblo maintains exhibits devoted to its own culture, enabling visitors to see firsthand what distinguishes one tribe’s art from another’s.  Our overnight will be in Gallup, NM.  B,D

Day 5:   After breakfast we will depart for the Petrified Forest National Park.  Here we will see the Painted Desert, an area of badlands that displays a variety of hues.  Covered by a soft layer of earth, the desert’s colorful erosion effects were created over the eons by mineralized water flows and mineral deposits.  We will then continue to Phoenix, AZ and the Drury Inn & Suites Chandler for the next five nights and located near shopping, dining and entertainment options.  The Drury Inn hosts a Kick-Back reception with hot and cold food every evening, a deluxe breakfast every morning and popcorn and soft drinks throughout the day.  After checking into the hotel you will have the remainder of the evening to enjoy at your leisure.  B

Day 6:   After breakfast, enjoy a guided highlights tour of the Phoenix area, your “home away from home” for the next several nights.  After free time for lunch on your own, we will visit the Heard Museum, a museum of native cultures and art.  Among the exhibits in its 10 galleries are contemporary, historical materials of Southwestern Native Americans, basketry jewelry, pottery and Kachina Dolls.  This evening will be at your leisure.  B

Day 7:   Today is a free day to enjoy at your leisure.  Your escort and driver will have some ideas for interesting sightseeing and transportation will be provided for shopping options. Or just enjoy a day of leisure at the hotel, basking in the warm Arizona weather!  Enjoy the Kick-Back reception at the hotel and then get ready for our 101st Anniversary Party at the hotel which will include dessert, games, prizes, etc. B

Day 8:   Today will be a full day as we travel south to Tucson.  Here we will visit Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum, a fusion experience: zoo, botanical garden, art gallery, natural history museum and aquarium.    A visit to Mission San Xavier del Bac will complete today’s touring.  The mission is a historic Spanish Catholic Mission located about 10 miles south of downtown on the Tohono O’odham Nation San Xavier Indian Reservation.  Lunch is included today. After our visit we return to Chandler.  B,L

If you prefer, you can remain at the hotel and enjoy the day at your leisure. This evening, we will include a “Farewell to Phoenix” dinner together. B,D

Day 10: We bid farewell to Phoenix and travel north to explore the beautiful town of Sedona, the quaint little western town surrounded by brilliant reddish sandstone and interesting formations.  We will include lunch in Sedona before heading to Flagstaff and the Drury Plaza for our overnight stay.  B,L
