We will never forget the tragic events of September 11, 2001. During this Tribute Tour we will come together to remember 9/11, the events, the heroes, and in particular the innocent whose lives were lost. Most importantly we will reflect on the true strength of America. Join us for this historic journey for a look back at one of the most significant times in our nation’s history. The extraordinary responses of individuals to the challenges they faced are inspiring and worthy of remembrance.
Day 1 We will depart bright and early this morning for our drive to our nation’s Capital, Washington DC. We will check into our area hotel for a two-night stay. Dinner is included in tour this evening. D
Day 2 Today we begin our Tribute to 9/11 with a visit to The National 9/11 Pentagon Memorial. The Pentagon Memorial was created to remember and honor those family members and friends who are no longer with us because of the events of September 11, 2001 at the Pentagon. Key features of the Pentagon Memorial are the 184 Memorial Units which serve as a permanent tribute to each victim. 85 Crape Myrtle trees and the Age Wall. Today we will also visit Arlington National Cemetery, our nation’s most hallowed ground, aboard a narrated tram. This historic cemetery bears witness to our American heritage and the military service and sacrifice of men and women in uniform throughout our history. After an included dinner we will enjoy an illuminated guided tour of our Capital’s monuments and memorials. B,D
Day 3 After check-out this morning we depart for New York City. We will spend our afternoon at Ground Zero where we will tour the 9/11 Memorial and Museum. The memorial is located at the World Trade Center Site, the former location of the Twin Towers that were destroyed during the September 11 attacks. As a monument to human dignity, courage and sacrifice, the Memorial and Museum honors the nearly 3,000 people killed in the terrorist attacks, recognizes the courage of those who survived, and salutes those who risked their lives to help others. We will overnight at a local hotel. B
Day 4 We will return to Manhattan and meet our tour guide for a guided city tour. We’ll include some time for lunch on your own before departing for our overnight stay near Carlisle, Pa. Dinner will be included together this evening. B,D
Day 5 This morning we will set our sights for home. Enroute we will visit the Flight 93 Memorial Site in Shanksville, Pa. The Memorial honors the actions of the 40 passengers and crew aboard Flight 93 who thwarted the attack on our U.S. Capitol. We plan to arrive home this evening, reflecting on a memorable Tribute Tour to the men, women and children of 9/11. B
