Join us on this great little getaway as we journey into the mid-late 19th century and “cross over the bridge” into the past! We’ll enjoy seeing how life was established in Berne, Indiana as we are guided through the Swiss Heritage Village. The Blue Gate Inn is a delightful hotel for our overnight stay. Half-Stitched, the Musical will have you bent over laughing, fighting back tears, and humming along to unforgettable melodies. A tour highlight will surely be our guided Amish tour with lunch at an Amish home. Come along with us on this Indiana Sampler to see what all the fuss is about in northern Indiana!
Day 1: We’ll depart this morning for a delightful Indiana getaway! Our first stop today will be in Berne, where we will visit the Swiss Heritage Museum and Village for a journey into the past. Learn how life was established in Adams County as your guide leads you through the various buildings and talks about the history and importance of each. Lunch will be on your own today. We’ll arrive in Shipshewana and check into the Blue Gate Garden Inn for our one-night stay. This is a delightful hotel that gets top ratings from its guests. After refreshing we depart for a wonderful evening. Our dinner will be an all-you-can-eat buffet meal at the Blue Gate Restaurant before enjoying “Half-Stitched…The Musical” based on Wanda Brunstetter’s novel The Half-Stitched Amish Quilting Club. After the show we return to the hotel. D
Day 2: After our breakfast, we will meet Orley Miller, our guide for this morning. He can’t wait to introduce you to his family and friends in the community. As we travel through Amish Country, Orley might have some surprises along the way. We will enjoy a boxed lunch at his daughter’s home before we set our sights for home. Arrive back early this evening with fun stories to tell of your Indiana getaway! B, L
