On this summer getaway we will tour country roads more traveled by buggies than buses! We’ll get a true look at the Amish lifestyle and enjoy a great evening of entertainment.
Day 1: We’ll depart this morning for our summer getaway. We’ll arrive in Indiana Amish Country and check into the local hotel. Get ready for a wonderful evening! Our dinner will be an all-you-can-eat Family Style meal at the Blue Gate Restaurant before enjoying the Oak Ridge Boys “American Made” Tour performance. After 50+ years of touring, The Oak Ridge Boys tried to say good-bye to the road in 2024, but their farewell tour was so popular, they decided to come back for a limited engagement this summer at the Blue Gate Theatre. Enjoying one of the most distinctive and recognizable sounds in the music industry, the Oak Ridge Boys’ four-part harmonies and upbeat songs have spawned dozens of Country hits and a Number One Pop smash, Grammy, Dove, CMA, and AMC awards. Join us to celebrate their return to tour for a stage show widely acknowledged as among the most exciting anywhere! Return to the hotel after a memorable day. D
Day 2: After our breakfast, we will include a guided tour of the surrounding Amish countryside. We will travel scenic backroads passing horse-drawn buggies, tidy farmhouses and white-washed barns. We’ll learn about the fascinating lifestyle of the Amish as our guide tells us about the area and the history, traditions and customs of the Amish. We will enjoy a delicious luncheon at Das Dutchman Essenhaus with time for shopping in one of the several village shops. We will depart this afternoon as we plan to arrive home this evening, anxious to share a piece of history with family and friends about the Oak Ridge Boys show and the Amish lifestyle. B, L
