Don’t miss the bus on this journey to beautiful Colorado where you will fall under the spell of its dry bracing air, mountain peaks, dark canyons, and crisp mountain streams. This tour will highlight some of the best sights Colorado has to offer including Pike’s Peak, Garden of the Gods, Royal Gorge, the Denver Skyline and so much more!
Day 1: Depart early this morning heading west. This evening, we will arrive in Columbia, Missouri for our overnight.
Day 2: After an included breakfast, we'll be on our way. Enjoy more scenery of the great Midwest today as we continue traveling through Kansas for your overnight stay. We'll stop today in Abilene to visit the boyhood home of Dwight D. Eisenhower as well as the Eisenhower Museum. Check into our hotel this evening as we prepare to set your sights on Colorado! Dinner is included this evening. B, D
Day 3: Breakfast is included before a glorious day of scenery! There will be lots of photo opportunities as we arrive in Colorado Springs and enjoy a tour of the Garden of the Gods. We’ll check-in to the Drury Inn and Suites for a two-night stay where we will enjoy the Kick-Back Reception. B
Day 4: What a great day! There simply isn’t an experience like the Pikes Peak Cog Railway. Sit back, relax, and check out the amazing views of Pikes Peak and Colorado Springs via the cog train! We’ll stop in Cripple Creek, one of the world's most famous historic gold camps, before arriving at the Royal Gorge, the world’s highest suspension bridge. Enjoy a scenic view from the aerial gondola. Return to the hotel this evening. B
Day 5: After breakfast, it's on to Denver! Our step on guide will show us the Mile High City, including the historic Capitol Hill district, the Governor's Mansion and Grant-Humphrey's Mansion, City Park, the Denver skyline, and mountain views. Take a ride on the Platte Valley Trolley, which offers a great view of downtown Denver. A tour of the Coors Brewery will complete a great day of sightseeing. Dinner is included this evening before checking into the Drury Inn. B,D
Day 6: Today we depart for a grand adventure to Georgetown and Central City. Our morning finds us in historic Georgetown for a taste of Colorado history. Georgetown is a quaint Victorian Village set in a spectacular mountain valley. A self-guided walking tour will provide you with an appreciation of the historic and architectural significance of Georgetown’s many 19th-century buildings and will provide an understanding of the area’s mining heritage. Enjoy shopping and lunch on your own. Central City has been called the richest square mile on earth because of its mining history. Enjoy seeing this mining town at your leisure before returning to the hotel in time for the Kick-Back Reception and evening at leisure. B
Day 7: Today we'll bid farewell to the mountains and canyons of the West and head back to the great prairie. We arrive in Lincoln, Nebraska for the evening. B
Day 8: After an included breakfast, we depart and continue through the Nebraska farmlands and into the great Midwest State of Iowa. We will arrive in Davenport in time to enjoy an included farewell dinner together this evening. B, D
Day 9: Following breakfast, we begin our final journey home. We plan to arrive home early in the evening with many exciting tales to tell family and friends and memories to last forever. B
