Join us on this unforgettable journey, back in time, as we experience Mackinac Island.
Day 1: We will depart bright and early this morning as we set our sights north to Michigan. We’ll arrive in Frankenmuth this afternoon and enjoy a guided tour of this unique Bavarian Village. We have included a traditional Family Style Chicken dinner at the Bavarian Inn restaurant. We overnight this evening near Frankenmuth. D
Day 2: After our included breakfast we will continue north and set our sights for Mackinac Island. As we board our ferry, prepare to arrive in a place reminiscent of days gone by. The Island boasts no cars, no chain hotels, just world-famous Mackinac Island Fudge, unique shopping, unforgettable sunsets and awe-inspiring sunrises. Enjoy a narrated horse-drawn carriage ride around the island upon arrival before arriving at our Island hotel, The Murray Hotel, for our two-night stay. The historic 69-room hotel dates to the late 1800s. Family-owned and managed since 1882, this charming hotel is in the heart of downtown Mackinac. The old-fashioned atmosphere and Victorian-era décor has been preserved, which the facilities have been updated to meet the needs of the modern traveler. After check-in, you are on your own to enjoy all that Mackinac Island has to offer. Stroll the shops of Huron Street, walk some of the endless nature trails on the island, enjoy dinner at one of the many restaurants on the Island. The Indians looked at the profile of the island and poetically called it the “Great Turtle”. It’s a fitting name for a place where time seems to stand still. B
Day 3: Breakfast will be included this morning. Your day is to enjoy at your leisure. We will gather at noon to walk to the Grand Hotel where we have included their famous Grand Buffet Luncheon. Enjoy viewing the magnificent gardens from the porch of the Grand Hotel. The remainder of the day is yours to enjoy as you wish. B, L
Day 4: After breakfast and check-out, we will board the ferry for the mainland and rejoin our Croswell driver and motorcoach for our drive home. Plan to arrive this evening with the fondest memories to share with your family and friends of a tour that took us Somewhere in Time! B
