Day 1: We’ll depart bright and early for our drive to Charlotte, NC. We’ll arrive and check into the lovely Drury Inn for our two-night stay. Enjoy the Kick-Back reception and evening at your leisure.
Day 2: After breakfast we will depart for the Billy Graham Library where we will discover the remarkable ways God used a humble farmer’s son to become an international ambassador of God’s love. You are sure to leave changed by the message Billy faithfully proclaimed during nearly eight decades of ministry. Designed to reflect Billy Graham’s journey from a farm boy to an international ambassador of God’s love, the barn-shaped building is situated on 20 landscaped acres, only miles from where Billy Graham grew up in Charlotte. Some highlights of our visit will be experiencing Graham’s journey through engaging films, rare photos, fascinating memorabilia and inspiring exhibits. We will also tour The Graham Family Homeplace, the home Billy lived in from age 9 until he left for college. If you wish, take time to reflect in the peaceful Memorial Prayer Garden. This afternoon we will enjoy a guided tour of Charlotte to learn why it is one of the most dynamic cities in the south. Tonight, we have a special treat, an evening at the NarroWay Dinner theatre. Considered the Broadway of Christian Entertainment, the NarroWay features family-friendly dinner shows! Tonight’s performance, “The 4th Cross” is the story of Four Crosses. Four Men. One Man is a Murderer. Two Are Thieves. The Fourth. A Carpenter from Nazareth. This is an evening you will remember. Return to the hotel after a great evening. B, D
Day 3: This morning after breakfast at the hotel we will depart for Asheville to begin our journey home. Today we will visit the lovely North Carolina Arboretum, nestled in one of the most beautiful settings in America. The Arboretum is surrounded by lush, botanically diverse Southern Appalachian Mountains. Within every leaf, branch or petal, there is a rich connection and story to be shared with visitors. After our visit we will continue our journey of faith and visit the Billy Graham Chapel and Center. The Chatlos Memorial Chapel, a vision of Billy Graham, demonstrates the simplicity and elegance of a traditional North Carolina mountain chapel. With vast mountain views from the chapel through forest trees, the steeple soars 80 feet above the roofline and can be seen for miles. After our visit we will check into our Asheville hotel before enjoying a delicious dinner together this evening, giving us time to reflect together on the journey of faith we have experienced. B, D
