The Big Easy. Come See. Come Celebrate.

New Orleans is a one-of-a-kind destination in the United States.  Nothing says New Orleans like the famous French Quarter but there is so much more to this fabulous city.  The Mississippi River, Mardi Gras history, the National World War II Museum with the sights and sounds of an incomparable era…it all awaits you so don’t miss the bus and join us on this Fall Excursion to one of the most exciting and unique cities in America!

Day 1:   Today we set our sights for the grand city of New Orleans! Our first overnight stay will be in Birmingham where we will enjoy tonight’s 5:30 Kickback® at the Drury Inn and Suites.

Day 2:   Enjoy an included breakfast before we begin our drive to The Big Easy! We will arrive in New Orleans in the early afternoon and check into the Drury Inn Plaza Hotel. Enjoy the amenities of the hotel, the Kick-Back, or have dinner on your own at one of the wonderful restaurants in the French Quarter as you explore the area at your leisure.  B

Day 3: After a delicious breakfast included at the hotel, we will meet our local guide for a morning highlights tour of the city!  Then we will arrive at the National World War II Museum and the BB’s Stage Door Canteen.  The history of the Stage Door Canteen featured a wonderful series of unique entertainment, showcasing the songs, style, stars, and spirit of this incomparable era. The Canteen welcomed GI’s about to head off to war, giving them one last chance to forget their anxieties with entertainment, fellowship, and a little American Spirit. Today, the WWII Museum honors this memorable wartime tradition at the BB’s Stage Door Canteen.  We will enjoy luncheon and exciting entertainment here.  We will spend the remainder of the afternoon exploring the museum. From the beaches of Normandy to the sands of Iwo Jima, the exhibits here are a blend of personal accounts, artifacts, documents, photographs, and original film footage.  The stories of the dozens of amphibious landings and the thousands of men and women who made the Allied victory in World War II possible are told through three floors of exhibit space. Tonight, you are in for a special treat as we board a Mississippi Riverboat for a lovely dinner cruise along the New Orleans riverfront! Enjoy the delightful music & delicious food of New Orleans.  B, L, D

Day 4:   After breakfast, we enjoy a visit to Mardi Gras World. Tour the 300,000 square foot working warehouse where floats are made for Mardi Gras parades in New Orleans.  Tonight, we will stay overnight at the Drury Inn in Birmingham, AL. Enjoy tonight’s 5:30 Kickback® Reception.  B
