Day 1: We will depart bright and early this summer morning for our drive to Chicago. We will arrive at Navy Pier for lunch on our own. This afternoon we will enjoy a narrated Architectural Cruise on the Chicago River. After our cruise, we will enjoy dinner at Gino’s Pizza before checking into our local hotel for a two-night stay. D
Day 2: After breakfast, we will depart for Oak Park, a charming village where modern and historical charm collide. First, enjoy a guided tour of Oak Park, which explores the exteriors of nearly a dozen Wright homes around the area. We will visit the Frank Lloyd Wright Home & Studio, nested on a tree-lined street in the heart of Oak Park where you will marvel at original blueprints in the famed architect’s laboratory before taking in the spectacle of colorful stained glass and ornate wood carvings in his living quarters. We will have time to refresh before our departure for the Drury Lane Dinner Theatre where we will enjoy a delicious dinner as well as the show. Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story chronicles the life and music of rock and roll pioneer Buddy Holly from his early start in Texas to his meteoric rise to fame and untimely death at the age of 22. Experience the original sound that changed rock and roll music as we know it. Return to the hotel after the show. B, D

Day 3: Following breakfast, we will continue our historical adventure with a guided tour of the Ernest Hemingway Birthplace Museum. This beautiful Victorian Home, where the author spent his first six years, is rich with Victorian décor and rare family photographs. We will enjoy an included lunch before departing for our return home. Plan to arrive early this evening with wonderful memories and experiences of something old and new with family and friends. B, L
