Day 1: We’ll depart bright and early for our drive to National Harbor, Maryland where we check into the luxury Gaylord National Resort for our three night stay. This spectacular waterfront resort has a stunning 19-story glass atrium and sweeping views of the Potomac River. National Harbor is home to more than 150 diverse shops and boutiques and over 30 dining locations. Its vibrant downtown atmosphere and Tanger Outlets are all within walking distance of our hotel. The hotel also provides shuttle service between the Tanger Outlets, MGM Resort and our resort. Prepare for a delightful stay at the Gaylord National Resort!

Day 2: Enjoy an early breakfast before heading into the heart of Washington DC. We begin our morning with a tour of the United States Capitol building. Once inside the historic Capitol, you will see the Crypt, the Rotunda, and National Statuary Hall. Next, we will explore the Society of Cincinnati’s historic headquarters, Anderson House, a National Historic Landmark in the Dupont Circle neighborhood of Washington, D.C. The tour reveals the history of the Society of the Cincinnati, the significance of the American Revolution, and the lives and collections of the home's first owners, Larz and Isabel Anderson. The mansion was completed in 1905 for the Andersons, a wealthy couple who devoted their lives to public service, travel, entertaining, collecting, and philanthropy—interests and activities that are reflected in Anderson House, where much of the couple's art collection and furnishings are still on display. Return to the hotel this afternoon to enjoy the amenities at your leisure. This evening, we will meet our tour guide for an illuminated tour of DC’s monuments and memorials. Of course, we will also experience the dazzle of the holiday lights on display.

Day 3: Enjoy breakfast included at the resort this morning and time at your leisure. Today we enjoy “ICE”, an indoor walk-through holiday attraction, kept at a chilly 9 degrees. The display includes two million pounds of hand-carved ice sculptures, five ice slides, and rooms exploring a variety of themed holiday scenes. You will be amazed at the beautiful decorations and ice carvings. Before returning to the resort we will take a ride on the Capital Wheel. In our enclosed, climate-controlled gondola, we soar 180 feet above the Potomac River waterfront. Sights visible include the White House and Capitol, National Mall, Arlington National Cemetery, city of Alexandria, Prince George’s County and the parklands throughout the region. Enjoy the remainder of the afternoon and evening at your leisure which can include a visit to the MGM Resort, Tanger Outlets or the shops and dining selections at the National Harbor. Shuttle service is provided by the hotel.

Day 4 : Enjoy breakfast and a last look at the resort before our departure. Today we travel home, anxious to share our wonderful holiday visit to the spectacular Gaylord on the Potomac!
