This new tour features both the “purple” Fields of Lupines and also tracking Moose in their natural habitat. You have never seen New England quite like this before. In June, lupines adorn the fields and back roads of New Hampshire with beautiful blooms in shades of blue, purple and pink with the occasional white or yellow. The Lupines’ June burst of color is a traditional area celebration. This tour also features an evening Moose Tour. On this real life adventure we will witness these gentle giants in their natural habitat.
Day 1: Today is the beginning of a great adventure! We travel through the rolling Ohio hills into the picturesque Pennsylvania countryside. We’ll overnight near Rochester, N.Y. this evening.
Day 2: Departing this morning, we travel to Lincoln, NH and the Mountain Club on Loon. Dinner is included this evening. B,D
Day 3: After an included breakfast, meet your local guide and journey across the Kancamagus Highway, one of the most scenic routes in America. Stops will be made at Albany Covered Bridge and Rocky Gorge. Lunch will be enjoyed at the Omni Mount Washington Hotel before our enjoyable afternoon, visiting the top of Cannon Mountain. Your tramway ride features spectacular rugged mountain scenery with views of Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, and even Canada. B,L
Day 4: Today, we will meet our guide after breakfast for a visit to the Lupines. The brilliant spikes of the lupine flower carpet local fields and pastures in a rolling sea of vibrant purposes, pinks, blues, and whites. What a breathtaking floral display again the majestic backdrop of the Franconia, Presidential, and Kinsman Mountain ranges. Take advantage of these photo opportunities! We will also visit Rocks Estate, a very popular Christmas Tree Farm and enjoy a guided tour of their Formal Gardens complete with a Horse Drawn Wagon through the Christmas Tree fields. This afternoon, a stop will be made at White Mountains Canning Company, Chutters Candy Company, and other specialty stores in Littleton, NH. We will make a stop at the White Mountain of New Hampshire where you will be able to see the Basin at Franconia Notch State Park. After an included dinner, we depart for our Evening Moose Tour. Your guide will take you on a real adventure – witnessing these gentle giants in their natural habitat on a three hour tour. B,D
Day 5: After an included breakfast, we make our final stop at Fadden’s General Store, family owned and operated for over 120 years! Shop their selection of maple syrups and other souvenirs before we depart towards home. Our overnight stay will be in Batavia, NY. B,D
Day 6: After breakfast, depart for home with fond memories of a great time together seeing beautiful New Hampshire and The Purple Moose! B
