This tour features a celebration of the art and heritage of quilting at the 28th annual “A Mountain Quiltfest”. But it also celebrates the music, culture and heritage of the Smoky Mountains with great food and fun-filled entertainment. So plan to join us on this great early summer getaway to the Mountains of Tennessee!
Day 1 We’ll depart this morning for our scenic drive through Kentucky and into Tennessee. Upon arrival we will check into The Lodge @ Five Oaks for our two-night stay. This hotel is located conveniently across from Tanger Five Oaks shopping center. Dinner is included this evening, followed by Country Tonite, a fantastic show where the love of God, family and country resonates throughout the Theatre! D
Day 2 After our included breakfast let’s celebrate the art and heritage of quilting at the 28th annual “A Mountain Quiltfest!”. Quilters from all around come together at the LeConte Center to show and display a variety of quilts for your viewing pleasure. Be sure to check out the vendors’ booths for a variety of quilting necessities and unique accessories. *Optional transportation will be provided to Gatlinburg in lieu of attending the Quiltfest. Tonight your dining and entertainment will be at The Hatfields and McCoys where you will become part of the longest-running feuds in history! You will be amazed at the dancing, singing, and stunts performed in front of you during this famous production. We will return to The Lodge after the show. B, D
Day 3 After breakfast this morning we will return to the Quiltfest or you can enjoy free time and shopping at The Island. The Island, with over 80 shops, restaurants and attractions is perfect for anyone wanting to escape the everyday. The Island Show Fountains are programmed to music and lights year round or you might want to purchase a ticket to ride “The Wheel” which is 200 feet tall. Lunch is included at Paula Deen’s Family Kitchen, located at The Island, where you can enjoy mouth-watering food and a unique shopping experience. Plan to arrive home this evening with wonderful memories of beautiful quilts and some much more! B, L
