Day 1:   We are off on our southern getaway.  Our travel today will take us to Macon, Georgia and an overnight stay.

Day 2:   After an early breakfast we will depart for our drive to southern Florida and Fort Myers.  We will check into the Drury Inn for our relaxing four-night stay.  Unpack and enjoy the amenities of this newly opened hotel voted the #1 hotel in Fort Myers!  Conveniently located we are just a short drive away from the downtown historic district of Fort Myers; Estero Island and Fort Myers Beach featuring seven miles of coastline on the Gulf of Mexico; the wonders of the Everglades and so much more.  After arrival you can enjoy the Kick-Back reception featuring cocktails along with hot and cold food choices. B

Day 3:   Breakfast is included each morning at your hotel.  Today, we will enjoy our short drive to Fort Myers Beach on Estero Island.  Relax on the beach, shop or enjoy lunch at Times Square, and walk along the boardwalks or ride the trolley to Lovers Key State Park.  Whatever your pleasure, you are sure to find it on Fort Myers Beach!  This afternoon we will return to our hotel to refresh.  Dinner will be included this evening. Day 4:   Breakfast is again enjoyed at the hotel.  This morning we will tour the Edison and Ford Winter Estates in the historic area of Fort Myers. There are many options to explore, with nine historic buildings, acres of lush gardens, Edison’s original botanic research laboratory and the 15,000-square-foot museum filled with hundreds of inventions and artifacts, special exhibit galleries and documentaries about the famous inventors.  After enjoying lunch and some local shopping we will return to the hotel this afternoon to enjoy the pool, a walk, or whatever is your pleasure.  Don’t forget to enjoy the Kick-Back reception at the hotel. B

Day 5:   Breakfast is again enjoyed at the hotel.  This morning we will meet our local guide for an up close look at this truly delightful and traditional Southern City.  After enjoying lunch and some local shopping we have included a Caloosahatchee River Tour!  Captains Lance and Harry Julian will make your maritime tour experience fun and informative.  On this 1.5 hour tour they’ll introduce you to dolphins, mangrove forests, bald eagles, bird rookeries and nature’s cutest cow, the manatee.  We’ll return to our hotel this afternoon to enjoy the pool, a walk, or whatever is your pleasure.  We have included a farewell to Fort Myers dinner at a local favorite restaurant. Return to the hotel after dinner and enjoy your evening. B,D

Day 6:   After breakfast we depart for our return drive home.  This evening we arrive at our overnight destination in Macon, Georgia.  B

Day 7:   Tonight will be home-sweet-home with an early evening arrival.  We are sure you will be anxious to tell your family and friends about your southern getaway to Florida and a wonderful beginning of 2022! B
