Day 1: We’ll depart bright and early this morning for our scenic drive to North Carolina. Welcome to Mount Airy this afternoon. We will check into our hotel for our two-night stay before gathering for dinner at the Cross Creek Country Club. Tonight enjoy an evening with John Floyd, known as “The Mouth of Mayberry”, a seasoned comedian who has entertained folks in all 50 states, as well as on the high seas. With his family-friendly clean comedy, his show is guaranteed to give you a night you won’t forget! D
Day 2: After our included breakfast we see “Mayberry” which includes a tour in a Squad Car. Where else can you ride in Barney’s car except Mayberry? Cruise on over to Andy’s Homeplace then ride in Mayberry style down Main Street past Floyd’s Barber Shop and Snappy Lunch. You’ll cruise by other Mayberry attractions like The Andy Griffith Playhouse, The Old Jail and the Visitors Center – Home of the Andy Griffith Museum. While at Wally’s don’t miss the photo opportunity of the day – your photo in front of the Squad Car! We will enjoy lunch on our own and stroll down Main Street in the “Friendly City” reminding us of people of Mayberry on the endearing popular ‘60s hit TV series. After some free time, enjoy the Andy Griffith Museum, starting with a guided “Behind-the-Scenes” tour ending where Andy first performed on stage at his high school. See the museum’s collections featuring hundreds of items from the life and career of Andy Griffith in movies, television and music as well as a variety of memorabilia. We will visit the Siamese Twin Museum and learn about the Bunker Brothers from their youth in Siam to a legendary career of entertaining around the world to settling down on farms to raise their families in Mount Airy. We’ll refresh ourselves at the hotel before enjoying dinner and then the Bluegrass Show! The Old-Time Bluegrass Show is a night of toe-tapping, hand-clapping music in the same spirit as the Darlings, that fictional family of musically inclined Hillbillies that appeared frequently on the Andy Griffith Show. Day 3: After our included breakfast at the hotel, we will say good-bye to “Mayberry” with fond memories of our visit and of Andy Griffith! B
