The Trapp Family Lodge is a mountain resort in the European tradition situated on 2,500 acres in beautiful Stowe, Vermont. A magical stay awaits at this unique resort featuring Austrian-inspired architecture and European-style accommodations and is still owned by the von Trapp family.
Day 1: This holiday getaway will be a truly memorable experience! We’ll make our way to Syracuse, NY where we will spend the night.
Day 2: After our breakfast we will depart for our drive to lovely Stowe, Vermont. Enroute we will stop at one of Vermont’s iconic locations…the enchanting world of The Vermont Teddy Bear Factory, where love is woven into every stitch. We will tour the Bear-racks, where you’ll be greeted by a large collection of Vermont Teddy Bear animals and learn about the history of the company. We’ll witness the bustling assembly line, where each bear is carefully crafted, and conclude our visit at the famous Vermont Teddy Bear Hospital, where your beloved stuffed animal can receive care if ever needed. After our visit we depart for our short drive to Stowe, Vermont and the Trapp Family Lodge. Upon arrival this afternoon we will enjoy the Von Trapp History Tour. “This hour and a half experience gives you insight to the truth’s and imagined story lines in the Sound of Music and gives you an in depth look at how the von Trapps escaped Austria and ended up here in beautiful Stowe, Vermont. Watch a 20-minute documentary about Maria’s last trip to Salzburg…and if you are lucky, you will even get to meet a family member and hear what their experience was like growing up with Maria. After our tour we will check into our Lodge rooms for the next two nights. Tonight, we will enjoy dinner together at the Lodge. B,D
Day 3: A full Vermont hot and cold breakfast buffet at the Lodge will begin our day. After breakfast we will meet our guide for a day of touring. Begin with a drive through Stowe, then taking Route 100 meandering through Vermont, and hearing interesting stories and tidbits, seeing the oldest covered bridge in Stowe. Today we will experience the Ben and Jerry’s Factory Tour, a box lunch at Cold Hollow Cider Mill, and a late afternoon arrival back at the Lodge. Then, we will enjoy an Ornament Making Class, helping us get in the holiday spirit! You can exercise your creative talents to create your own ornament and keepsake to bring home with you! Dinner this evening will be located on the grounds of Trapp Family Lodge. B,L,D
Day 4: A full Vermont hot and cold breakfast buffet is enjoyed before departure. Our drive this morning takes us to the Yankee Candle Flagship Store, arriving in time for shopping and lunch on our own. It’s always Christmastime at the Bavarian Christmas Village. Your adventure continues in the Black Forest on to Village Square past the waterfall beside the moat over the draw bridge to Nutcracker Castle. After that you must visit Santa’s Toy Factory! This afternoon, we will depart for our overnight destination near Allentown, PA. Dinner will be on your own this evening. B
Day 5: Breakfast will begin the day before departing for our journey home. With stops for rest and lunch we will arrive back this evening, after a once-in-a-lifetime Christmas experience at the Trapp Family Lodge! B
