Day 1: Welcome aboard as we set our sights for the Pennsylvania Dutch country! We will arrive and check into the Hershey Farm Resort in Lancaster for our delightful three-night stay. Enjoy getting acquainted with the resort and evening at leisure.
Day 2: After a delicious breakfast at the hotel, we will depart for Wheatland, the beloved, 1828 home of the 15th U.S. President, James Buchanan. With very few barriers in the estate, we will stand in the spaces once frequented by a former President and his family. Our visit will include a 24-minute orientation film, Buchanan’s America: A Nation Divided. Then after our guided tour of the estate you will have access to museum exhibitions about Lancaster County’s history. You will enjoy lunch on your own and time to visit downtown Lancaster, famous for historic buildings, delicious dining, boutique shopping and more. Later this afternoon we will arrive at the Sight and Sound Millenium Theatre for the spectacular performance of JOSHUA. In the Old Testament, Joshua conquered and settled the Promised Land of Canaan. This production will tell the story of its namesake character as he takes charge as a leader after being Moses’ second in command. “With one last fortified city standing between the Israelites and the promised Land, unexpected help emerges from behind enemy lines and Joshua’s trust in God’s plan is put to the ultimate test”. This is a story you shall long remember! Dinner is included after the show. B, D
Day 3: After breakfast we will enjoy a day of sightseeing in the heart of the Amish land. Our guide will show us the true “Amish Experience”. We will tour the Amish Farmlands, visit an Amish House and One-Room School, and enjoy the Amish Experience Theatre five-screen production of Jacob’s Choice. Lunch will be included today. After refreshing we will depart for the Dutch Apple Dinner Theater where we will enjoy a delicious buffet dinner and the opening night of Oklahoma! Cowboy Curly and farm girl Laurey carve out a life together in a brand-new state. The unforgettable Rogers & Hammerstein score includes Oh, What a Beautiful Mornin’, People Will Say We’re in Love, I Cain’t Say No! and the exhilarating title song, Oklahoma! B, L, D
