Day 1: We’ll depart bright and early this morning for our drive to Bowling Green. First, it’s “All Aboard!” to the Historic Rail Park and Train Museum. Housed in the 1925 L&N Depot, the Museum features vintage equipment and artifacts that reveal the history and heritage of Kentucky’s railroads. Climb aboard the restored railcars that include the E-8 Engine, Presidential Office Car, the Duncan Hines Dining Car, a luxury Pullman Sleeper and 1921 Post Office Car. Next, we will visit Lost River Cave and Valley. Lost River is Kentucky’s only underground boat tour offering a visit to a timeless world that touts the largest cave opening east of the Mississippi River. Then We will check into the lovely Drury Inn and enjoy their famous Kick-Back Reception. Tonight, we will enjoy a delicious ice-cream treat at Chaney’s Dairy Barn.
Day 2: After breakfast, we will depart for Kentucky’s newest aviation attraction, the Aviation Heritage Park. View their beautifully restored aircraft, as you listen to the stories of these pilots and their extraordinary achievements. The park is a memorial to the distinguished aviators who have called South Central Kentucky home. Before heading home, we’ll make our final pit stop at the National Corvette Museum. Did you know that every Corvette made in the world today is produced in Bowling Green? As you tour the museum you will discover why the Corvette is “America’s Sports Car”. From the early classics to late model Vettes, you’ll be immersed in the history and beauty of this automobile Icon. We’ll set our sights for home this afternoon, anxious to tell our friends and family about all we have seen in just two days together! B
