Day 1: Early today we head south and east through Tennessee to the beautiful city of Chattanooga. This afternoon we will ride the world-famous Incline Railway to the top of the rugged and beautiful Lookout Mountain. Then, check into our hotel, the Drury Plaza, for our two-night stay. Relax, unwind, and enjoy Drury’s famous Kick-back reception.
Day 2: Today we will learn why Chattanooga has earned the nickname “Scenic Center of the South”. Ruby Falls, located in Twin Caves, is under the battlefield, 1,120 feet below the surface. The falls drop 145 feet in a solid sheet of water. We will. On a clear day you will see seven states from Lover’s Leap at Rock City Gardens. See Fairyland Caverns and Mother Goose Village, where millions of years of geological history have been etched into these stone formations. We’ll also tour the incredible Tennessee Aquarium, the largest and most complete freshwater aquarium in the world. Tonight, we will enjoy a delicious dinner before returning to our hotel for the night. B, D
Day 3: Before setting our sights for home we will take a ride on the Missionary Ridge Local Railroad. The Missionary Ridge offers us a perfect “bite-sized” train ride. Our journey will be a 6-mile, 55-minute round trip and packed with a lot of history into a compact timeframe. We will cross four bridges, a horseshoe-shaped tunnel, historic turntable demonstration, and a brief tour of train restoration shops. We will enjoy an included lunch and then travel home with memories of the delightful time we’ve had in amazing Chattanooga! B, L
