Join us for this great little getaway to enjoy breathtaking mountain views, historic sites and live music events. Don’t miss the bus and leave the rest to us for a great three days you will be sure to remember.
Day 1: We will depart early this morning and travel south to Eastern Kentucky. We’ll arrive at Pikeville Overlook Events Center for lunch before enjoying an Overlook guided tour. Later this afternoon we will visit the Big Sandy Museum and check into our hotel for our two-night stay. Refresh and relax before an enjoyable evening. Tonight we’ll enjoy a buffet dinner at the Dueling Barrels banquet room with live entertainment. Return to our hotel after a great day. L,D
Day 2: After our included breakfast, we will travel along the Country Music Highway. Our first stop will be at the Country Music Highway Museum before arriving at the Mountain Homeplace Working Farm. Lunch will be included at the farm. After lunch, we will visit the historic Mayo Memorial Church in Paintsville. We then travel along the Highway to Webb’s Grocery and General Store for Loretta Lynn’s Butcher Holler Tour. We will leave Butcher Holler to travel the Country Music Highway Scenic Byway to Breaks Interstate Park for an overlook tour of the “Grand Canyon of the South”. Next, we will depart on park shuttles with a box meal for shuttling to the elk viewing experience. We will return to the hotel later this evening after a great day of touring. B, L, D
Day 3: Following breakfast, we will depart for the Land of the Hatfield and the McCoy- the belly of the feud fights. We’ll see the historic property of the Hog Trial Cabin and the McCoy Well site. Our lunch will be on our own before departing Eastern Kentucky for our trip home. Plan to arrive early this evening after a wonderful look at the people and places of Eastern Kentucky! B
