Ride the Strasburg Railroad and journey through time with a fully narrated excursion as you traverse the picturesque Amish countryside &ride the one-of-a-kind Wilmington and Western Railroad along the scenic Red Clay Valley in Delaware. Day 1: We will depart this morning for our drive eastward as we cross Ohio’s rolling fields and the picturesque mountains of Pennsylvania where we arrive at our hotel in Lancaster County. Our dinner will be included tonight. D
Day 2: This morning after our included breakfast, we will depart for a ride on the Strasburg Railroad, the oldest continuously operating railroad in America! We will experience the rural beauty of Lancaster County aboard the fully narrated, 45-minute historic steam train as we travel through world-famous Amish farmland. After riding the rails, we will enjoy a delicious luncheon at Hershey Farm. There will also be time to visit The Shoppes at Hershey Farm. This afternoon we will drive the short distance to Delaware, called the “First State” because it was the first of the 13 original colonies to ratify the U.S. Constitution. Upon arrival, we will check into our hotel for a two-night stay. Rest and refresh before we depart for our short drive to New Jersey and “the Best Show on Dirt”- the Cowtown Rodeo! Started back in 1929, Cowtown Rodeo has stood the test of time…remaining true to the traditions of the Old West and bringing you a taste of western ranching that is an integral part of American history. Day 3: This morning after breakfast, we will ride the rails on the Wilmington and Western Railway, one of America’s longest-operating tourist railroads and the only one of its kind in Delaware. We will traverse the scenic Red Clay Valley on a historic power locomotive. This afternoon, we’ll enjoy a guided tour of Longwood Gardens, one of America’s most spectacular garden destinations. Discover beautifully designed formal gardens, peaceful open meadows, winding paths, and breathtaking vistas overlooking the Brandywine Valley. Tonight we will include dinner together in Wilmington, spending time together to reminisce about the things we have seen and enjoyed! B, D
Day 4: After breakfast, we will depart for our return trip home with so many fond memories of our Rails and Rodeo adventure! B
