We will never forget the tragic events of September 11, 2001. During this Tribute Tour we will come together to remember 9/11, the events, the heroes, and in particular the innocent whose lives were lost. Most importantly we will reflect on the true strength of America. Join us on a historic journey to one of the most significant times in our nation’s history. The extraordinary responses of individuals to the challenges they face are inspiring and worthy of remembrance.
Day 1: We will depart bright and early this morning for our drive to our overnight destination of Carlisle, PA. We will begin our Tribute to 9/11 with a visit to the Flight 93 Memorial Site in Shanksville. The Memorial honors the actions of the 40 passengers and crew aboard Flight 93 who thwarted the attack on our U.S. Capitol.
Day 2: After check-out this morning we depart for New York City. This afternoon, we’ll visit Ground Zero and tour the 9/11 Memorial & Museum at the World Trade Center site, where the Twin Towers once stood. The Memorial and Museum honors the nearly 3,000 people who lost their lives in the September 11 attacks, remembers those who survived, and pays tribute to the courage and sacrifice of the many first responders and others who risked their lives to help. Dinner will be included this evening before we check in to a local hotel. B, D
Day 3: We will return to Manhattan and meet our tour guide for a guided city tour. We’ll include some time for lunch on our own before departing for a two-night stay near Washington, DC. B
Day 4: Today we continue our Tribute to 9/11 with a visit to the Pentagon Memorial, created to remember and honor those family members and friends who are no longer with us because of the events of September 11, 2001, at the Pentagon. Key features of the Pentagon Memorial are the 184 Memorial Units which serve as a permanent tribute to each victim. Today, we will also visit Arlington National Cemetery, our nation’s most hallowed ground, aboard a narrated tram. This historic cemetery bears witness to our American heritage and the military service and sacrifice of men and women in uniform throughout our history. After an included dinner, we will enjoy an illuminated guided tour of our Capital’s monuments and memorials. B, D
Day 5: This morning, we will set our sights for home. We plan to arrive home this evening, reflecting on a memorable Tribute Tour to the men, women and children of 9/11. B
