Day 1: We depart this morning for our getaway to Amelia Island. We will overnight en-route this evening near Columbia, SC.
Day 2: We’ll depart after breakfast for an easy drive to Florida’s northeastern-most shore, Amelia Island. While it is easy to reach, Amelia Island is hard to forget. We arrive at our home for the next three nights, Fernandina Beach. Our hotel is just a short walking distance to the beautiful beach. Tonight we get better acquainted as we enjoy dinner together.
Day 3: This morning is yours to explore and enjoy some of Amelia Island’s 13 miles of Appalachian quartz sand beaches. If beaches are not your thing, we’ll take you on a mini shopping excursion. This afternoon, board an Amelia Island Trolley for a historic look at Fernandina Beach, Old Towne, and more! Early this evening, you’ll have time to explore on your own. This area, with many shops and restaurants, is recognized on the National Register of Historic Places.
Day 4: After our included breakfast we have planned an excursion to nearby St. Augustine. Enjoy lunch on your own and walk the quaint cobblestone streets. This afternoon, enjoy a one hour cruise as the Captain points out historical landmarks and other interesting information about St. Augustine. Refresh at the hotel and enjoy some free time before our included dinner this evening.
Day 5: We bid farewell to Amelia Island this morning and set our sights for the lovely Southern City of Savannah. Upon arrival, we will meet our step-on guide for a city highlights tour. We’ll include a family-style lunch at Lady & Sons Restaurant. This afternoon, we set our sights for Columbia and our overnight stay.
Day 6: After our included breakfast we bid farewell to the south and set our sights for home. Plan to arrive back early evening after a memorable getaway to Amelia Island.
