Hocking Valley Railroad

As we left Kentucky and traveled through Ohio we had a colorful ride.  The trees were beautiful with fall color.

We arrived at the Olde Dutch Restaurant in Logan Ohio.  The bountiful buffet was very enjoyable with homemade pie for dessert.  There was time allowed to visit the gift shop, and we agreed it was a very nice place for lunch.  

We then travelled to Nelsonville, Ohio and boarded the train at the Hocking Valley Scenic Railway Depot. There were several different trains at the Depot which were very interesting to see.  As we travelled down the track, we got to see many different things such as a lumber yard and a plant mining for gravel.  The ride was nice and smooth.  

This was a very nice one-day trip; we spent a day away from the house, enjoyed a meal with new friends, took a train ride and saw some new country.
